To
Establish the process of Parliamentary Committees
The Parliament of Stratham enacts:
Section 1. Short Title
(1) This Act is the Committees Standard Act.
Section 2. Commencement
(1) All provisions shall come into effect upon passage of the bill.
Section 3. Reasoning
(1) The Committee Standard Act helps implement an official process for MPs to start and form new committees or re open former committees in new parliaments.
Section 4. Process
(1) A MP may send an official notice via #parliament asking the speaker to officially put a vote for a committee to be formed/ re opened.
(2) The Speaker will then put the said committee to a vote to the Members to form/Re open the said Committee and if a majority of approval is passed the committee is then formed/re opened.
(3) The Speaker will then post asking which members would like to join the said committee and MPs can react to that announcement. Once all MPs are in that committee they then select a chairman by simple majority vote (50% of MPs rounded up).
(4) if a committee is being formed for the first the MPs who seeks to form it will become the automatic chairman of that committee
(5) There shall be no more than 5 MPs per committee.
(6) An MP may not be in more than 3 Committees at one time
