A
Bill
To
Rescind Parliament Term 24.5
The Parliament of Stratham enacts:
Section 1. Short Title
(1) This Act is the Rescinding Parliament Term 24.5
Section 2. Commencement
(1) All provisions shall come into effect upon passage of the bill.
Section 3. Reasoning
(1) Staggered elections are not beneficial to Stratham's democracy. This causes instability in the Government as it leads to excessive campaigning during the middle of government terms, mass resignations and instability due to senior Government positions becoming vacant upon the election of the Prime Minister, and would cause an increase in special elections due to MP’s resigning to form a new Government. In order to avoid these issues, this bill will rescind staggered elections.
(2) The bill "Parliament Term 24.5" followed an invalid process and contradicted the constitution.
Section 4. Rescinded Act
(1) Following the passing of this bill the "Parliament Term 24.5" bill will be rescinded.
