- Title: Client Modification Rule Edit
- Type of motion (Edit/Removal/Creation): Edit
- Elaboration & Reasoning: Currently, any and all mods installed on the client side (save for optifine) are against the law and can result in heavy consequences including temporary to permanent ban and/or fines. This is taking into account the notion that client modifications pose unfair advantages to players and are therefore subject to law enforcement by staff.
Though this may be true in many cases, many client mods are not included in this definition and do not offer these advantages. If passed, this bill would allow certain inhibitory and/or "benign" mods such as CheatBreaker to be allowed in-game and be exempt from sanction, as modifications such as these do not offer competitive advantages and instead are preventative measures.
Modifications that DO offer an edge in the game, however, are subject to punishment by staff just as they are currently. If in such circumstance that it is uncertain if a mod offers an unfair advantage, then the final verdict is left to the staff member to decide based on their acumen.
- Other Information: This bill was first suggested by Sprite
