The DoPA presents...The BC Choice Awards! (BCCA)

What are the BCCAs?

The BCCA is an annual awards ceremony hosted by the BCCAC (The BC Choice Awards Committee, aka everyone in the DoPA). There are 7 categories where the public can vote on the winner of each category. The BCCAC decides who the nominees are and what the categories are.

How will this work?

There will be a subforum on the events forum made. There will be a thread for each of the 7 categories created where a poll will be held. Whoever the winner of that poll is will be the winner of that category. There will be about 3 to 4 nominees in each category.

Dates:

December 20th: Categories will be announced
December 21st: Nominees will be announced
December 26th: Voting will begin
December 28th: Polls will be closed and votes will be tallied up.
December 30th: Results will be announced and awards will be given out.

Additional Information:

Awards will also be given out to all of the staff team as a thank you for all they have done

It’s easy to see the inaccuracies in this statement. I will assume you are talking about the “Crafter of the Year” event, since it is the only thing you could possibly believe is similar. For starters, the idea of giving an award for a “person of the year” is not original and unique to your event. In fact, TIME Magazine did it much before. Then there is the even more important point that this event is nothing like the “Crafter of the Year” event. That event was an overall award to one person. This event awards seven people, one in each distinct category. The fact that they both an award is the only thing linking them together, and that’s not an uncommon or original thing. When making this event, we were not thinking about your event in the slightest. I’m sorry you feel that way, but it’s simply untrue.

  • Best department (all gov departments will be nominated)
  • Most involved player
  • MP of the Year (must have served this year, but does not have to be currently in office)
  • Best company
  • Most Valuable Player (MVP)
  • Hardest worker
  • Nicest person
