Protect citizens from the government’s mistakes.
The Parliament of Stratham enacts:
Section 1. Short Title
(1) This Act is the Regulation of Law Enforcement and Prosecutions Act.
(2) This Act can be abbreviated as RLEPA.
Section 2. Commencement
(1) All Provision(s) shall come into effect upon passage.
Section 3. Reasoning
(1) Citizens are consistently getting charges with breaking the Corporate Advertisement Act when no announcement was made regarding the passage of the bill and the rules and laws page is still outdated.
Section 4. Grace Period
(1) The government may not enforce a law until after it has been updated into the rules and laws page.
(2) A public announcement must also be made after the updating of the rules and laws.
Section 5. Wrongful pursual of charges
(1) If the government pursues charges that aren’t in our rules and laws page against any citizen, that citizen is entitled to receiving reparations upon a successful lawsuit.
(a) The citizen may reach out to the government in order for a settlement outside of court.
(b) If a settlement is reached outside of court, that citizen is no longer entitled to court awarded reparations.
(2) A Judge must follow these guidelines while granting reparations.
(a) If the citizen has been jailed and fined, they will be granted the fine money back.
(b) Citizens will receive 25kr for every minute they spend in jail.
(c) If the citizen was indicted in court, the government is required to pay the legal fees if the defendant had legal counsel and an additional 250kr to the defendant.
