- Title: Edit to Parliament Procedure
- Type of motion (Edit/Removal/Creation): Edit
- Elaboration & Reasoning: Often times, if a Member of Parliament receives negative feedback on a motion in #motion-creation they will remove it from the channel, with the purpose of hiding their ‘Mistake’ of a motion. I personally believe this is wrong to do for a couple of reasons:
1: It hides the motions which the population doesn’t like. Whether intentional or not, this hides an MP’s bad side of their personal policies/beliefs, which is something that should not be hidden from the voters.
2: I believe all motions can be improved upon, including those which are initially thought of as ‘Bad for the server’, as many motions which the majority population do not agree with have a good core idea, however the execution in the motion can be flawed, so future MP’s who may want to bring an idea back won’t know what the original motion did right/wrong
This edit will make it to where MP’s are no longer allowed to remove their proposed motions from the #motion-creation channel on the BusinessCraft Discord. If done the MP doing so will receive a Warning Point from the Speaker of Parliament.
Instead, if a motion receives negative public feedback or is for whatever reason decided to not be put into the voting phase, the MP who posted the motion will put at the bottom of the bill “This motion will not continue the parliamentary procedure process (due to/Because of) (Reason).”
