Consolidate corruption under one bill
The Parliament of Stratham enacts:
Section 1. Short Title
(1) This Act is the Corruption Act.
Section 2. Commencement
(1) All Provision(s) shall come into effect upon passage.
Section 3. Reasoning
(1) To replace the Sherlock Accords.
Section 4. Corruption of Government Officials.
(1) Define Corruption of Government Officials as “The act of using your high government position to solely benefit your own personal or corporate interests.”
(a) Anyone who is found guilty of this crime shall be barred from holding a high government position for 4 months, removed from all their high government positions, and shall have a fine imposed on them not exceeding 15,000kr. The fine shall be at the discretion of the presiding Judge on the case.
(2) High Government Position shall be defined as "Any position that ranks above a normal government employee. Such as a Minister, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Judicial Officer, Member of Parliament."
Section 5. Corruption of Government Employees
(1) Define Corruption of Government Employees as “The act of using your government job to solely benefit your own personal or corporate interests.”
(a) Anyone who is found guilty of this crime shall be barred from having a government job for 3 months, removed from all their government jobs, and shall receive a fine of no more than 5,000kr.
Section 6. Enforcement
(1) Any lawyer may bring forth a case of corruption in court against any government official or employee.
Section 7. Corruption of Judicial Officers
(1) Judicial Officers may not preside over a case in which they are accused of corruption.
