Amend the Constitution

The Parliament of Stratham enacts:

Section 1. Short Title


(1) This Act is the 7th Amendment

Section 2. Commencement

(1) All provisions shall come into effect upon signage of this bill.

Section 3. Purpose and Reasoning

(1) To reform power distribution within the government and create checks and balances to hold all Executive Officers liable for their actions.

Section 4. Article 6 Amendments

(1) Addition of Section 6.4 - Votes of No Confidence

6.4 (a) A vote of no confidence can be initiated by any member of public by proposing it in the Public Referendums channel on Forums.

6.4 (b) This section applies to all Senior Government Officials of the executive branch.

6.4 (c) To initiate a vote of no confidence, a forum post must be made with 5 players replying and showing open support for the Vote. Reactions do not count.

6.4 (d) Once this step is fulfilled, a vote will be initiated in Parliament regarding the removal of said Official. Should this vote receive 4/5 votes in favour of removing said Official, the Department of State will be responsible for removing said Official from their position. In the case of the PM and DPM, this clause will not apply.

6.4 (e) Should the Vote not receive parliamentary backing, the Department of State will be responsible for initiating a public Vote of no Confidence. Should this vote end with majority in favour of removal and a minimum of 15 total voters, the Department of State will be responsible for removing said Official from their position.

6.4 (f) After the removal of the Prime Minister, the order of succession listed in the Constitution will be used.

6.4 (g) Any removed Official may not be in the position they were removed from until the term ends.

Section 5. Article 8 Amendments

Add Section 8.1(m)

8.1 (m) Define “member of public” as any player with a Join Date of more than 6 days and a /bcseen of 6hrs.
